Anxiety is a feeling of unease, like worry or fear. It is normal sometimes, but if it affects daily life, support can help. Slow breathing, regular activity, cutting down on caffeine and alcohol, and talking to someone can help. NHS Talking Therapies offers free help for anxiety and you can refer yourself.

Anxiety
Feelings of worry or fear that can be strong and hard to control.
Panic attack
A sudden rush of intense fear with physical symptoms like a racing heart.

Things you can do

  • Try slow breathing: in for 4, out for 6, for 5 minutes
  • Reduce tea, coffee and energy drinks after midday
  • Refer yourself to NHS Talking Therapies
